THANK-YOU FOR VISITING OUR SITE.

We are located in Central New York, off of State Route 12 between Utica and Old Forge.  We currently serve about 5,000 district residents and our district includes the Village of Remsen, the Town of Remsen, Part of the Town of Steuben and part of the Town of Russia, in Herkimer County.  Within our district is a portion of the Adirondack State Park in the Town of Russia, Kayuta and Hinckley Lakes, which have numerous seasonal homes, several farms, businesses, apartments and a 10 mile stretch of 4 lane State Route 12 and a 15 mile stretch of State Route 365. 

We currently respond with the Prospect Volunteer Fire Department on automatic mutual aid to any reported structure fire.  We also work closely with our neighboring departments as needed for assistance through mutual aid.  Prospect Ambulance is most commonly used by our department to transport patients to local hospitals but we also work with Boonville Ambulance, out of Boonville, Kuyahoora Ambulance, out of Poland, Am Care, out of Rome, and Kunkle Ambulance, out of Utica.
